Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that 1,000 cusec of water would be supplied to Nangal Choudhary in the next two years to check scarcity of water in Southern Haryana. A scheme has been formulated to supply water from Hathni Kund Barrage to Nangal Choudhary and it would be completed in two years.
The Chief Minister was addressing a Pragati Rally in Mahendragarh today. It was for the first time that the Chief Minister had visited Mahendragarh constituency after holding the reins of administration in the State. He dedicated projects worth crores of rupees to the people of the area as he laid foundation stones of new development works and also made many announcements for the development of the constituency.
He said that he was aware of the problems of farmers as he was born in a family of a farmer. In its first one year, the State Government gave farmers compensation to the tune of Rs 2,100 crore for damage to crops due to hailstorms and whitefly, whereas in the last 15 years, farmers have received only Rs 1,600 crore as compensation. He said that in the recent Jat reservation agitation, 1,700 victims have been compensated out of the total 1,900 victims and the remaining 200 would be compensated in the next two weeks.
He said that when Haryana was formed, the state was known for its backwardness and water scarcity in Southern Haryana. Taking note of this problem of Southern Haryana, work on Rs 143 crore Lift Irrigation Scheme was started and such a new scheme is being formulated under which water would be supplied to those areas which have scarcity of water. Water to these areas would be supplied from those areas where sufficient quantity of water is available.
He said that the newly constructed bus stand in Jhajjar is an example of corruption-free government. When the cost of this project was estimated it was said to be Rs 50 crores, but under the surveillance of present government, the project has been completed in only Rs 33 crores. He said that new Enterprise Promotion Policy has been formulated to provide employment to the youth. Under this policy, recently Investors Summit was organized in Gurgaon to attract investors. In this summit, 359 MoUs worth Rs 5.84 lakh crore were signed between the state government and various business establishments. When these MoUs would be implementated, these would generate four lakh job opportunities.The Chief Minister said that 'Mhara Gaon Jagmag Gaon' has been formulated to fulfill the power supply demand in Haryana. Under this scheme, power is being supplied for 21 hours for those who pay their bills regularly.
During the rally, the Chief Minister made many announcements for the development of Southern Haryana. The announcements included Rs 70 crore for the roads of Mahendragarh, Rs 50 crore for formulating the scheme to develop Madhogarh Fort as tourist spot, construction of building of SDO office of Power Utilities in Mahendragarh, community centre, arrangement of five acres land for the construction of ITI in Satnali, Rs 5 crore for Municipality, Mahendragarh and Rs 10 crore for rural development in Mahendragarh. Other announcements included Rs one crore each to be given to Jat-Pali villages for development which donated land for Central University.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones of many projects. He inaugurated the building of Institute of Management Committee, ITI Mahendragarh and ITI Mahendragarh (Women) Society, construction of building of Satnali block, Canal-based water supply scheme for Basai, Canal-based water supply scheme Duloth Ahir and building of bus-stand at Satnali. He also laid the foundation stone of 33KV sub-station in village Shyampura, up-gradation of Mahendragarh bus-stand to sub-depot by incorporating workshop and building of Government Women College in Ateli.
The Union Minister of State for Planning and Defence, Rao Inderjit Singh said that under the Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi’s slogan of Make in India , equipments and machinery used in defence services could be manufactured. With manufacture of Railway and Defence equipment, the image of this area would be completely transformed. He stressed the need to increase accountability of officers and employee.
Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Gen. (Retd.) V.K Singh said that the development of Southern Haryana would lead to the development of entire state. He said that many great soldiers have born here.He urged the Chief Minister to formulate a scheme under which the dependants of Martyrs don’t have to visit office time and again for the construction of memorial of martyrs.
Haryana Education Minister Mr Ram Bilas Sharma requested the Chief Minister to implement schemes related to Education, Irrigation, Road and Power in Mahendragarh constituency. He described Southern Haryana as cantonment of BJP and said that in future this would provide strength to BJP and Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi.
MP Bhiwani-Mahendragarh, Mr Dharambir Singh said that in the regime of present BJP government, this area has been allotted six new state highways. After the construction of Nijampur Logistic Hub, this area would be developed on the lines of Rewari-Manesar-Gurgaon.
Haryana Agriculture Minister Mr O.P Dhankar, on the demand of Deputy Speaker of Haryana Vidhan Sabha, Mrs. Santosh Yadav, announced to construct 29 water courses and three bridges. He approved schemes worth Rs 19 crore for rural development in Mahendragarh constituency.
Haryana Transport Minister, Mr Krishan Lal Panwar said that a driver training centre would be opened by Transport Department after getting land in Mahendragarh where training would be imparted to drivers of Heavy and Light Motor Vehicles.
Haryana Public Works(Building and Roads) Minister, Rao Narbir Singh said that all roads of Mahendragarh and other districts of Haryana would be repaired. A whatsapp number would soon be launched to get information about damaged roads.Roads would be repaired within 72 hours after receiving information.
Haryana Minister of State for Public Health and Engineering, Mr Ghanshyam Saraf said that the state government was committed to supply water to each household. Haryana Minister of State for Co-operation Mr Bikram Singh Yadav also spoke on the occasion.
