Haryana Agriculture Minister O.P. Dhankar, who is also Chairman of Cabinet sub committee, constituted for re-organization of Sub-Divisions, Tehsils and Districts said that the sub committee has proposed to create three new districts in the State. These are Charkhi Dadri, Hansi and Gohana.
Mr Dhankar, who was addressing a press conference here today, said that an Administrative Committee headed by Financial Commissioner, Revenue has been constituted which would examine the feasibility of the proposal to create new districts and submit its report before the Cabinet sub committee by May 31, 2016.
He said that Additional Chief Secretary, Panchayati Raj, Divisional Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner concerned would be members of the Administrative Committee. The committee would seek public opinion on creation of these new districts in the state.
The Minister said that Cabinet sub-committee had also recommended to create seven new sub-divisions, five tehsils, one sub-tehsil and six blocks in the state. Besides, it had also recommended to change the name of two blocks. The name of new sub-divisions, which have been recommended included Uchana in district Jind, Badhara in district Bhiwani, Badhkal in district Faridabad, Radaur in district Yamunanagar, Badli in district Jhajjar, Narnaund in district Hisar and Ladwa in district Kurukshetra. Besides this, sub-tehsils will also be constituted in Badli, Uchana and Ladwa.
The name of new tehsils recommended by the Cabinet sub-committee are Alewa in Jind district, Khijrabad in Yamunanagar district , Mataluda in Panipat district, Raipur Rani in Panchkula district and Bass in Hisar district . He said that the sub committee had also recommended creation of Palawas sub-tehsil in Rewari district.
The sub committee had also recommended creation of six new blocks namely Badli in Jhajjar district, Khijrabad in Yamunanagar district, Badauli in Palwal district, Pipli in Kurukshetra district, Dahina in Rewari district, and Charkhi Dadri in Bhiwani district. In addition, sub committee had also recommended to rename the earlier blocks Dadri-1 and Dadri-2 as Baund and Jhoju respectively. Presently, there are 126 blocks in the state and their number would increase to 132 after the final approval.
The Minister said that Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal had constituted Cabinet sub committee keeping in view the demand of the people for creation of new tehsils, sub division and districts. Other members of the sub-committee are Minister of State for Cooperation Mr. Bikram Singh Yadav, Minister of State for Food and Supplies Mr. Karan Dev Kamboj and Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Mr. Krishan Kumar Bedi. He said that sofar the sub-committee has conducted seven meetings.
Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Mr. Krishan Kumar Bedi and Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner Revenue Mr. Dalip Singh were also present on this occasion.
