The National President of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), Mr Amit Shah today appreciated Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal for giving a corruption free government to the people of the State and said that the other States in the country should also follow Haryana’s policy of zero tolerance for corruption.
Mr Amit Shah was addressing the "Haryana Swaran Jayanti Panchayat Sammelan" at Gohana today. Representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs)from about 6907 villages participated in the Sammelan.
He urged the representatives of the PRIs to help the State Government in making all villages as ‘Gokul Gaon’ and realize the dream of Prime Miniter Mr Narendra Modi.He said that in the last 20 years, both Hooda and Chautala were involved in rampant corruption in their respective tenures, but Mr Manohar Lal has, during the last one-and-a-half year, given a fair and corruption free government to the State.
He said that till now only two families were ruling the State but this time, people of Haryana have shown faith in the BJP and given a clear mandate to form the government in the State. He also appreciated the Haryana Government for the successfully organizing ‘Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday’ campaign which is the brainchild of Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi. He said that the campaign which started on the birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar on April 14 would conclude on Panchayti Raj Diwas on April 24, 2016.
While hailing the amendment of Panchyati Raj Act by the State Government for introducing educational qualification for those contesting the elections to Panchayati Raj Institutions, he said that implementation of this Act would prove to be a milestone in ensuring the development of villages as unless the Panchyats are made corruption free, the State would not become free from corruption. He said that the new provision in the Act has given an opportunity to the women and people belonging to backward classes to come into the main stream.
Describing the farmers of Haryana as progressive, he said that Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi has a vision to double the income of farmers by the year 2022. He said that Haryana Government should also prepare plan from the same adding that he has full faith in Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal. He said that Haryana has ample opportunities in dairy farming and stressed that co-operative milk societies should be formed in every village of the State. Besides, the farmers should resolve to work like ‘Amul’ who has ushered in a revolution in the field of milk and related products as this would not only make Delhi free from adulterated milk but would also increase the income of farmers. He said that he comes from such a State where the BJP Government has increased the income of farmers by 2.25 per cent in just seven years. He also suggested to study the pattern of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh as this would significantly help in increasing the income of farmers in Haryana also.
He said that Mr Modi has said that development of the country could not be ensured without the development of villages. Therefore, the Central Government has presented a budget which is focused on rural development. It was the dream of Mr Modi that every village in the country should be a ‘Gokul Gram’ which would be progressive and have all facilities like hospital, school, electricity and road . He said that various new schemes have been approved in the Union Budget under which financial assistance of Rs 80 lakh would be given to each village and Rs 21 crore to every town. Apart from this, scheme for economical medicines for the poor, Mudra Scheme for youth for giving guarantee free loan from Rs 10,000 upto Rs 10 lakh are among the other prominent schemes of the Central Government. He said that more than Rs one lakh crore has been provided under the scheme this year to the youth for self employment. Similarly, Rs one lakh and 80,000 crore would be provided next year through Mudra Banking, he added.
Mr Shah said there were more than 15,000 villages which do not have electricity wires even after many years of independence. He said that facility of electricity connections would be made available in these villages before May 18, 2016. Apart from this, a scheme has been prepared to provide 1.50 lakh new gas connections to the families. He said that Rs 19,000 crore have been given to NABARD to restart the schemes that had been pending since long.
