HSEB to take over eight Mewat Model schools

CHANDIGARH, APRIL 4
 With a view to provide facilities to the students of Mewat Model Schools at par with those of Government schools, Haryana School Education Department will take over eight Mewat Model Schools functioning in the district.
A decision to this effect was taken in the 27th meeting of Mewat Development Board presided over by Chief Minister Manohar Lal here today.
In order to further improve the standard of higher education in Mewat, the Chief Minister directed the Education Department to increase the number of education institutes, especially in the areas of skill development. He said that State Government had already framed a scheme to attract maximum teachers to work in  Mewat as per which 10 per cent incentives over and above the salary and allowances would be given to the teachers of other than Mewat, who wish to serve in this area.
While assuring quality healthcare services, he asked the Health Department to prepare a scheme on   the  pattern of giving hard area allowance,  to attract maximum number of doctors  to serve in Mewat. He also directed to explore possibilities to open para medical institutes in Nuh and Punhana.
While reviewing the Balika Shiksha Vahini scheme, he directed the Education Department to immediately  get  a survey of various routes in this area conducted and submit its report to Transport Department so that the  scheme meant to provide exclusive transportation facility to girl students for attending educational institutes.
The Chief Minister also directed the Agriculture Department to   examine the possibility of setting  up  marketing centre at   Taoru for vegetables and flowers. Besides, the Board also approved to open a new institute of Driving Training and Research under Multi Sectoral Development Plan at village Chapera in Nuh. He asked the Transport department to renew the licenses of those drivers, who have driving licences issued from other states. Such liscences be renewed  in drivers’ training centres of Gurgaon and Rewari.
He also directed that under a new scheme, transit residences should be constructed for officers at district and sub division  levels and this should be started from Mewat.   
During the meeting, the budget of Rs 31.50 crore of Mewat Development Agency (MDA) for the year 2016-17 was also approved. Out of the total amount, Rs18.50 crore would be incurred on education, Rs 98 lakh on health care, Rs 7 crore on community works, Rs 20 lakh on promotion of  sports, Rs 75 lakh on agriculture, Rs 60 lakh on animal husbandry and Rs.one crore on Industrial, vocational and off farm training, Rs70 lakh on community development, Rs12 lakh on cultural development and Rs1.65 crore on project management.
Finance Minister Capt. Abhimanyu, MLAs namely Mr Zakir Hussain, Mr Naseem Ahmed, Mr Rahisa Khan, Mr Kehar Singh,  Chief Secretary Mr. D.S. Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue Mr Dalip Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Finance, Mr Sanjeev Kaushal, non official members of the Board and other senior officers of the Government  were also present in the meeting.
