The Haryana Government today announced to increase minimum monthly and daily wages of labourers of different categories by 4.95 per cent with effect from January 1,2016.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Labour Department said that these wages have been enhanced in view of the increase of 106 points in the price index.
He said that the Government has made a provision in the Minimum Wages Act to fix minimum wages on the basis of Consumer Price Index. After every six months, the Consumer Price Index is reviewed in the months of January and July and accordingly, the minimum wages are fixed.
Detailing out the wages, the spokesman said that in case of unskilled labour, the monthly wages would be Rs 7976.20 and daily wages Rs 306.77. In case of semi skilled (A), these would be Rs 8375.01 per month and Rs 322.11 per day. Similarly, in case of semi skilled (B) labourers, the wages would be Rs 8793.76 per month and Rs 338.22 per day. For skilled (A) category, these would be Rs 9233.44 and Rs 355.13 and for skilled (B) category, these would be Rs 9695.12 and Rs 372.88. He said that a highly skilled labourer would get monthly wages of Rs 10179.87 and daily wages of Rs 391.53.
He said that in case of Clerk and General Staff, an under matriculate would get monthly wages of Rs 8375.01 or Rs 322.11 daily. A matriculate but not graduate would get Rs 8793.76 per month or Rs 338.22 per day. Similarly, a graduate or above would get Rs 9233.44 per month or Rs 355.13 per day. A steno typist would be given Rs 8793.76 per month or Rs 338.22 per day. A Junior Scale Stenographer would be paid Rs 9233.44 per month or Rs 355.13 per day. Similarly, Senior Scale Stenographer would be paid Rs 9695.12 per month or Rs 372.88 per day. Personal Assistant would be paid Rs 10179.87 per month or Rs 391.53 per day. Private Secretary would get Rs 10688.87 per month or Rs 411.11 per day. Data Entry Operator would get Rs 9233.44 per month or Rs 355.13 per day. A driver of light vehicle would be paid Rs 9695.12 per month or Rs 372.88 per day and that of heavy vehicle Rs 10179.87 per month or Rs 391.53 per day.
In case of security guards, without Arms, would be paid Rs 8375.01 per month or Rs 322.11 per day. Those with Arms would get Rs 9695.12 per month or Rs 372.88 per day. Security Inspector/Security Officer/Security Supervisor would be paid Rs 10179.87 per month or Rs 391.53 per day. A Safai Karamchari would get Rs 8500.95 per month or Rs 326.95 per day.
He said that wages for those engage in brick-kiln industry have also been revised. He said that a “Pathera” would get Rs 454.47 for bricks per thousand and that of Tiles, Rs 511.28 per thousand. ‘Bharai Wala-A (loading of bricks into kiln) would get Rs 204.51 per thousand bricks provided that the distance between farm and kiln is upto 400 metres. In case the distance is more, the additional wages of Rs 18.17 is given for distance of 100 metres or at the same rate if it is more. This rate would be applicable in case of loading with ass or mule. In category (B), in case of distance of 1002 metres, the rate would be 168.15 for filling bricks through tempo or cattle driven cart or with any equipment. In case the distance is more, the additional labour of Rs 18.17 per thousand would be given for every 500 metres or at this rate.
The ‘Keriwala’ would get Rs 36.35 per thousand bricks and ‘Nikasiwala’ Rs 149.97 per thousand bricks. ‘Chinaiwala’ would get Rs 9233.44 per month and Mason/Coalman/Jalaiwala would also be given Rs 9233.44 per month.
