Indian Army is celebrating year
2012 as 'Ex-servicemen Year' during which the officers of the Indian
Army will visit different places and redress the grievances of
ex-servicemen, war widows and members of their families.
This was stated by Brigadier P. S. Minhas while
redressing the grievances of ex-servicemen after culmination of first
Pension Adalat organised at Sirsa today.
He said that more than 200 grievances were put up in the Pension Adalat and most of these were redressed on the spot.
He said that with a view to provide health
facilities to ex-servicemen and their families, the Indian Army has
started Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS). By acquiring
membership of this scheme, all ex-servicemen and their family members
could get benefitted. He said that very soon Indian Army would set up a
complex over an area of eight acres at Rajgarh in Rajasthan in which
every type of facility would be available for ex-servicemen in a single
campus.
He said that Haryana has significant contribution
in Indian Army. Better health and canteen related facilities would be
provided to soldiers and families of ex-servicemen. He said that mobile
canteen would be started to benefit more people. This mobile canteen
would give services in Sirsa for two to three days in a month. Also,
existing canteen in Sirsa Air Force Station would be expanded and a new
counter would be set up for ex-servicemen.
He said that such Pension Adalats have been set up
for the first time in district Sirsa and in future after every two to
