CHANDIGARH, JULY 11
Now street vendors in Haryana will also be covered under National Health Insurance Scheme.
While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the scheme was being implemented in the state with the cooperation of Central Government. Under the scheme, indoor medical bills upto Rs 30,000 of the members of poor families were reimbursed and five members of a family were insured. Now street vendors would also be covered under the scheme.
The concerned municipal committee or council would identify such families and prepare a list and their
smart cards would be prepared by the Health Department.
All the families living below the poverty line were being covered under the scheme. The government had already decided to extend the benefit of the scheme to the MNREGA workers, he added.
