Thousands of children participated and were impacted by Balakalakaar 2012 event organized by the AIESEC, Chandigarh at Hallmark School in Panchkula. Activities like Global Village, Nature Walk and Art & Crafts were conducted for the under privileged and talented children who were adopted by corporates, educational institutions and performing arts academies giving a fillip to their hidden talents. Pracheen Kala Kendra, International School of Media and Jaison Academy for Dance adopted number of children for honing their creative taste buds for FREE training in various dance, music and education skills.
Daily Post and 94.5 MY FM were the Media and Radio partners of this event of the local chapter of the AIESEC, world's largest youth enterprise, operating in 110 countries and having more than 60,000 active members. AIESEC facilitates projects to international interns in corporate, technical, education and social sector.
Balakalakaar is the biggest social event held by a Local Committee of AIESEC India every year. Started in 2005, Balakalakaar has become popular with the immense impact created ever since.
Prior to this final event, Balakalakaar (AIESEC, Chandigarh) had organized another event One Day Without Shoes (7th July) for the first time in India. This event was followed by distribution of shoes to the needy.
