CHANDIGARH, JULY17
The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda, today announced to increase
the monthly remuneration being paid to Mid Day Meal Workers from Rs.1000 to
Rs.1150.
Mr. Hooda was presiding over a meeting with Mid-Day Meal Workers and Accredited
Social Health Activists(ASHA) here today.
Earlier, a remuneration of Rs.1000 per month was being paid to Mid-Day Meal
workers which was shared by Central Government and State Government in the
ratio of 75:25. Now State government would share Rs.400 instead of Rs.250
earlier.
The Chief Minister also directed the concerned officers to issue guidelines to
help Mid-Day Meal Workers during pregnancy. He asked the officers not to
terminate the services of such women workers during pregnancy. He also directed
that those workers who would perform satisfactory services would not be removed.
The Chief Minister also ordered to examine the issue regarding enhancing the
incentives admissible to ASHA workers so that these could be better as
compared to other states. The Government has already ordered to provide
mobile phones to ASHA workers. He suggested that ASHA workers should meet
Mission Director, National Rural Health Mission so as to redress their
grievances.

R.S. Doon, Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary Finance, Mr. Sanjeev
Kaushal, Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, School Education Mrs.
Surina Rajan, Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary Health, Mrs.
Navraj Sandhu and other officers also present in the meeting.
