N Railway introduces new Rohtak to Panipat train

Tthe Northern Railways has introduced new passenger train from Rohtak to Panipat and extended Jind-Sirsa passenger train to Hisar and Delhi-Jind passenger has been extended to Narwana. Number of other Mail/express trains have also been extended, which would benefit number of towns in Haryana.

          In a press statement issued here today, Congress MP Mr Deepender Singh Hooda hailed the move to start new train from Rohtak to Panipat and extension of Jind-Sirsa passenger train to Hisar and Delhi-Jind passenger upto Narwana.  He thanked the UPA Chairperson Mrs Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and Union Railways Minister Mr Mukul Roy for acceding these long pending demands of the people of the State.

          Rohtak-Panipat passenger train will run daily and depart from Rohtak at 11:15 a.m. to arrive at 2 p.m. at Panipat and would start back at 2:30 p.m. from Panipat to arrive at 4:40 p.m. at Rohtak. This would benefit the three districts of Rohtak, Sonepat and Panipat, he added.

          Jind-Sirsa passenger train has been extended to Hisar. It would depart from Jind at 4:25 p.m. and would reach Sirsa at 10:45 p.m., would depart for Hisar  after five minute halt to reach Hisar at 12:25 a.m. It would depart from Hisar at 4:20 a.m and reach Sirsa at 6:10 a.m. It would depart from Sirsa at 6:20 a.m and will reach 2.50 p.m at Jind. Mr. Hooda said that the people of Hisar, Fatehabad and Sirsa would be benefited as they would get new trains from Hisar to Sirsa.

          Delhi-Jind passenger express has been extended from Jind to Narwana. It would reach Jind at 9:45 p.m to depart at 10 p.m for Narwana. It would reach Narwana at 10:45 p.m. The train would start from Narwana at 11:15 p.m to reach Jind at 12.05 a.m. The extension upto Narwana would provide another linked to Delhi and vice versa, he added. Similarly, Kathgodam-Delhi Ranikhet express has been extended upto Jodhpur and this daily express train would benefit the people of Gurgaon, Patodi Road and Rewari, he further added.

          Mr. Hooda said that people of the state would also be benefited with the proposed new Mail/Express trains of Delhi Sarai Rohilla to Udhampur AC express train (Tri-Weekly), Amritsar-Hazur Sahib Nanded Superfast express train (Weekly), Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Bandra (T) Express train (Weekly). These trains would benefit the people of Panipat, Ambala Cant, Jakhal, Rohtak, Gurgaon, Rewari and Narnaul as they would halt at those stations and people would be able to board the trains, he added. He said that time table has been formally announced by the northern railway and hoped that the date of commencement of all these trains would be announced soon.

Mr. Hooda reminded that 2012-13 railway budget had sanctioned a number of new railway projects for Haryana State in railway budget 2012-13. It has sanctioned new rail line from Rohtak to Hansi via Meham, while new rail line between Hisar to Sirsa via Agroha and Fetahabad was sent to planning commission for appraisal.  He said that it has been consistently trying  for providing direct rail connection from Sirsa to Delhi via Fatehabad, Hisar, Hansi, Meham and Rohtak. The first part of the project was achieved in this year railway budget and he along with other Congress MPs  were making efforts to achieve the second part as well by providing new rail line between Hisar to Sirsa via Fatehabad. He reminded that during the six years of NDA government supported by INLD, the State got no worthwhile rail project.  The then Union Railway Minister, Mr. Dinesh Trivedi had announced new passenger trains between Panipat to Rohtak (Daily) and extension of passenger trains from Jind-Sirsa upto Hisar and Delhi-Jind passenger train upto Narwana. He said that he would follow up the case for starting new train between Rewari to Phulhera, as had been announced during the railway budget.

Mr. Hooda said that during the tenure of the present Congress government  in the State, many rail projects have been completed while many more including the Jind to Sonipat were being executed with 50 per cent contribution from the State Government.
