126 physically challenged children in Behal Block examined

 As many as 126 physically challenged children of Behal Block, district Bhiwani were medically examined on the first day of Medical Health Camp being organized by National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), Haryana in collaboration with Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan at district Hospital, Bhiwani. This camp has been organized under Indira Bal Swasthya Yojna and it will continue upto October 26, 2012.
          A team of specialist doctors including Dr. Anil Chaudhary, Opthalmologist, Dr. R.S. Punia (ENT specialist), Dr. Girish,Psychiatrists, Dr. C.V. Pathak , Hearing Dysfunction Specialist, examined the children.
          Earlier, Mission Director, National Rural Health Mission, Haryana Dr. Rakesh Gupta held detailed meetings with each department associated with Indira Bal Swasthya Yojna to prepare strategy for the successful organization of this camp. Dr. Gupta said that for the success of these camps, the External Monitors and State Headquarter’ Monitors would visit the concerned districts and inspect  the working of these camps so that drawbacks, if any, could be removed. Apart from NRHM, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment were also cooperating in the organization of these camps.
          During the medial examination, it was found that 35 children needed stick, tricycle, caliper, artificial limbs and other aided instruments.Therefore, their size was taken so they could be provided such aids. Apart from this, 23 children were given certificates of being physically challenged. During the medical examination, five cases of remedial surgery were also indentified. Remedial surgery would be conducted on all those children who needed this surgery during the entire camp and for this, special surgery camps would be organized in the next one or two months. Such type of camps would be organized in the entire State in phased manner. 
During the camp, the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment would distribute forms to the physically challenged children and would also give important suggestions to them. For physically challenged children more such  camps would be organised. The physically challenged  children attending the camp would get certificates for concession in travel by train.
