Member of Parliament Deepender Singh Hooda today called upon the
youth to set an objective in their life adding, “the bigger you aim, the better
the future is”.
Mr. Hooda was addressing the students during the first convocation of Sri
Jairam Eduational Institutions at Sri Jairam Girls College, Lohar Majra in
district Kurukshetra today. As many as 250 degrees were awarded to girls
students of BA, B.Com, BSc and B.Ed streams.
While congratulating the new graduates, Mr. Hooda said that convocation
day is a memorable historical event for all of them as they have completed
their studies and received degrees. Also, they were stepping towards a new
world thus students should envision their future from the same day. Every
student should have dreamt about their future course of action. He said that
there is global economic slowdown thus there can be difficult situation for
students. However, India is ahead of many countries in terms of economic
development.
He said that Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda is closely assocaited
with this institution and “today I feel like that here in the institution I
have come to my own family”. He appreciated the works being done by Sri Jairam
educational institution in the field of girls’ education, especially in rural
areas. He assured every possible help for the development of the educational
institution. On this occasion, Mr. Hooda also awarded certificates and medals
to brillant students of the institute.
While presiding over the function, Finance Minister Mr. Harmohinder Singh
Chattha said that Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda had created a unique
environment of learning in the state by setting up many educational institutes
in the state as a result of which, Haryana is emerging as an education hub. The
state is at the top in sports also. He said that whenever girls get
opportunities, they have proven themselves in every field.
Speaking on this occasion, Education Minister Mrs Geeta Bhukkal said that
apart from students, the convocation day is also important for teachers. She
said that Sri Jairam educational institution holds the ancient displine of
ancient tradition of teacher-student relation in this era. She said that Prime
Miniser Dr. Manmohan Singh had implemented Right to Education Act in the
country which was taken as a mission by the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh
Hooda. During last seven years period, the state had immensely progressed in
education sector. Many new schools, colleges, universities and medical colleges
were established to further boost the educational infrastructure in the state,
she added.
Mrs. Bhukkal said that with the visionary approach of Chief Minister, a gurukul
at Khanpur Kalan, rural area in district Sonipat, had been developed as the
first women university of north India. Apart from this a medical college for
women had also been set up in the complex of the university. She said that
school nurture policy would soon be implemented in the state. Under this,
assistance for infrastructure would be provided. She said that government had
declared year 2012 as Year of the Youth and during this period more emphasis
was being given on overall development of youth.
Speaker, Haryana Vidhan Sabha Mr. Kuldeep Sharma also congratulated the
newly graduated students and wished them a great success in life. He said
that today India has become a knowledge and technological hub and youth could
contribute a lot in this. He said that it was the result of policies of Chief
Minister that Haryana is on the top in terms of education in the country.
Chairman, Sri Jairam educational institution, Brahamswaroop Brahamchari also
spoke on the occasion.
Political Advisor to Chief Minister Prof. Virender Singh, MLA Mr.Anil
Dhantori, Vice Chancellor Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra Lt. Gen. (Retd)
Dr. DDS Sandhu, former Minister Mrs. Prasanni Devi, former MLA Mr. Ramesh Gupta
and other dignitaries were also presenet on this occasion.
Mr Deepender also laid foundation stones of Kamboj Dharamshala and
Goswami Dharamshala in Kurukshetra.
