CHANDIGARH, OCT 23
Member of Parliament Deepender Singh Hooda today offered to donate
his eyes so that the blind may see the light of the day.
Mr. Hooda announced
this during a medical checkup camp organized by Health Department at
village Jaitpur in district Jhajjar today. He also filled up a form for
his eye donation. He said that there were several people who could not
see the beautiful world. However, blind could also see with this noble
gesture of eye donation. Hence maximum people should come forward to
offer for eye donation.
The
Member of Parliament said that Haryana Government had started an
ambitious scheme ‘Nehru Drishti Yojna’ aimed at controlling blindness.
People should ensure regular checkup of their eyes so that their eyes
could brightens someone’s life. He said that a large section of the
world was the victim of blindness. People wearing spectacles, suffering
from diabetics, high blood pressure, TB and other diseases could also
donate eyes, he added.
It
may be recalled that Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda had also
offered to donate his eyes during launching of two ambitious schemes
namely "Nehru Drishti Yojna" and "Indira Bal Swasthya Yojna" on the
occasion of Republic Day celebrations in Jhajjar in year 2010.

Mr. Naresh Sharma, Senior Congress leader Mr. Raj Singh Jakhar and a
number of dignitaries were also present on this occasion.
