CHANDIGARH, OCT 4
Haryana State Legal Services Authority (HSLSA) has decided to
give an honorarium of Rs 1000 per month to the Chowkidars of all the
villages in which legal aid clinics have been set up in the State.This
would be in addition to Rs 2000 already being given to them by the State
Government.
While stating this today, a spokesman of HSLSA said that the Chowkidars
of concerned villages would help para-legal volunteers during the
meetings of legal aid clinics and the advocates appointed on panel by
the Authority. They would also disseminate all the information regarding
the meeting to the people. He said that earlier the Chowkidars were
given Rs 2000 as monthly honorarium and now additional honorarium of Rs
1000 would be given to them.
He said that allowances and fee of advocates and para-legal volunteers
working in HSLSA has also been increased. Now, para-legal volunteers
would be given Rs 3000 for pleading in lower courts and Rs 5000 per case
for pleading in sessions court. Earlier they were getting Rs. 1500 and
Rs 2200 respectively.
He
said that advocates of legal aid clinics would be given Rs 500 per day
and Rs five per km as travel allowance. Similarly, para-legal volunteers
would be given Rs 250 per meeting.
