CHANDIGARH, OCT 17
With a view to promote modern farming
amongst the farmers of district Sirsa, Haryana Agriculture Department would
provide 616 different modern agricultural implements during the current
financial year on which a subsidy of Rs 80.67 lakh would be given to the
farmers.
While
stating this today, a spokesman of the Department said that these implements
would be provided under Integrated Scheme of Oilseeds, Pulses, Oil Palm and
Maize,a State scheme, National Agricultural Development Scheme and National
Food Safety Mission. He said that to distribute these implements to the
farmers, applications have been invited from the farmers and these would
be submitted in the office of Agriculture Department by November 30. For the
applications, a draw of lots would be held by a four-member committee
constituted under the Chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner to chose
beneficiaries.
He
said that to give these equipments, 20 per cent reservation would be given to
the farmers belonging to Scheduled Castes and 10 per cent to women farmers. He
said that those farmers who had already taken subsidy on agricultural
implements under any scheme of State or Central Government after the year
2006-07, would not be eligible for any subsidy during this year.
