CHANDIGARH, JULY 22
The Haryana Government has decided to set up a
Hosiery Cluster at village Darbi in district Sirsa and initially, the Central
Government would spend Rs six crore to develop this cluster.
While
stating this today, an official spokesman said that under this
scheme, a building would also be constructed in the village and
under Backward Regions Grant Fund, an amount of Rs 60 lakh would be spent on
it. He said that as a group, about 120 people of the village would
make sweaters, shirts and uniforms and village Darbi would set itself as an
example of small industry, especially of hosiery industry.
He
said that about 11 years ago two persons had started this hosiery business. All
the beneficiaries of the scheme belong to Scheduled Castes and
Backward Classes and it is the first group of its kind in the country. He said
that Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has given green
signal for setting up of hosiery cluster in the village and this
has become possible only because of the initiative taken
by Haryana Industry and Commerce department.
He said that setting up of such
small scale industries would promote industrialization. He said that
district Sirsa produces 40 per cent of the total cotton produced in the state
and this area is famous as cotton belt in the country.
MP

of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises would be of modern
technology and the clothes produced would be of high quality. At government and
private level, the textiles would be marketed through tenders and
