The Haryana
Government has ordered the restructuring of the Governing Body of Command Area
Development Authority (CADA), Panchkula under the Chairmanship of
Administrative Secretary, Irrigation Department.
While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that
Administrator, CADA would be the Member Secretary of the Governing Body. He
said that other members of the Body included Senior Joint Commissioner (Command
Area Development and Water Management) Central Government or his
representative, Vice Chancellor, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural
University or his representative, Director, Agriculture or his representative,
Engineer-in-Chief, Irrigation Department, Secretary, Finance or his
representative, Principal Director, Haryana Irrigation Research And Management
Institute, Kurukshetra and Chief Engineer, CADA. Also, Officer on Special Duty,
CADA, representatives of Central Water Commission, Central Ground Water Board
and Water Users Association and Director of Central Soil Salinity Research
Institute, Karnal or his representative would be other members of the
Body, he added.
The spokesman said that the body would also work as State Level
Monitoring Committee. It would meet at least twice a year before Rabi and
Kharif season and monitor or review the performance of Command Area Development
and Water Management Programme.
