Gurgaon- Chandu- Badli road to be widened

 Gurgaon- Chandu- Badli road will be widened and upgraded from existing two lane road to four lane at a cost of about ` 94 crore. On this stretch of about 21 kilometers, the AIIMS-II was being set up at village Badsa, on Gurgaon-Jhajjar border. Since outreach OPD of AIIMS has become functional in Badsa, four laning of this road would facilitate the patients going there for treatment. The work is in tendering process and it would be got completed by Haryana State Road Development Corporation (HSRDC.
This  was disclosed  in the meeting presiding over by  Principal Secretary of Public Works Department ( Building & Roads) Mr Sanjeev Kaushal today. Mr Kaushal reviewed the progress of development works pertaining to roads and buildings undertaken by the department in district Gurgaon         
During the review when he was told that a 3 kilometer long road from village Garhi Harsaru to Chilana Temple was constructed recently had again broken, he immediately ordered an enquiry to enquire into the reasons behind breaking of this road within few days of its completion and said that action would be taken against those found guilty. This road was constructed at a cost of Rs. 114.12 lac.
He said  that Gurgaon- Chandu- Badli road will be widened and upgraded from existing two lane road to four lane at a cost of about Rs 94 crore. Mr Kaushal also gave directions to make Palwal- Sohna- Rewari road pothole free by coming 20th October and send report to him after completing the work. He said that this road was got inspected and it was found that commuters were facing hardship due to numerous potholes.  
. He reviewed the works completed, works in progress and the works which were in pipe line besides progress on Chief Minister’s announcements. He stressed on ensuring quality in works and said that in haste of completing the works under several pressures, do not compromise with quality. He fixed deadlines for completing the works. He also directed the officers to take up horticulture works and plantation at all building sites.
                    The Pataudi Sub-Division will also get new office complex in March next year. Its construction is in full swing and according to the officers till now 68 percent work has been completed. It would cost ` 531.39 lakh. Similarly, the construction of Tehsil building in Farukhnagar at a cost of ` 317.95 lac was also in progress. The construction of new Industrial Training Institute (ITI) at village Uncha Majra has also started at a cost of ` 1033.53 lac and it is likely to be completed by February 2015. One more new ITI would be set up in village Sultanpur under Public-Private-Partnership model. It was told in the meeting that the 75 percent of construction work at 50 beded hospital in Pataudi had been completed. The construction of road from Sarai Bajghera upto Delhi border has been approved upto Delhi border which will cost ` 371.62 lac. The strengthening of road from Badshahpur to Tikli Gairatpur Bass has also been approved recently.
In the meeting, the issue of strengthening of local Mehrauli- Gurgaon Road also figured in which the concerned Executive Engineer N K Tomar apprised that on the portion from Sikanderpur to Delhi Border barring a stretch of about 700 meters, other portion has been covered with bituminous layer. Mr Kaushal directed to complete the work in a time bound manner and till then make a traffic plan in such a way that the commuters face least inconvenience. He said that the portion of MG Road from IFFCO Chowk to Sikanderpur would be given for repairs and strengthening to another team of officers. Proper drainage plan will also be made for MG road. The Deputy Commissioner Mr Shekhar Vidyarthi observed that whole stretch of the road should not have been scrapped while taking up strengthening work. It should be taken up in parts to avoid inconvenience to the commuters.   
The meeting was apprised that two more Foot Over Bridges (FOBs) would be constructed across the NH-8. One will be near Khandsa village and the other near Sukhrali. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) will bear the cost of Khandsa FOB while the Sukhrali FOB will be on 50-50 percent sharing basis  between HUDa and NHAI. The Sukhrali FOB will cost about ` 553.25 lac while the Khandsa FOB will cost ` 264 lac. Tenders for these would be invited soon.
        Various rural roads connecting villages and projects of building work which are in pipeline were also discussed in the meeting.
