Hooda seeks special industrial package as given to HP

 Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said that he is not against Himachal Pradesh getting special industrial package, but he has advocated that similar package should also be given to Haryana for its own hilly areas of Morni and Mewat.
          The Chief Minister, who was replying to the questions of media persons at meet the press programme in Chandigarh Press Club here today, was asked to comment on some of the issues raised by Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh recently. Mr.Hooda said that Himachal is a good neighbor and there was a time when a large area of Himachal Pradesh and the present Haryana and Punjab formed one state. On the issue of Chandigarh as raised by the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Mr.Hooda said that first Chandigarh should be given to Haryana and only then he would talk about the issues.
          In reply to a question concerning New Chandigarh proposed to be developed by Punjab, Mr.Hooda said that Chandigarh belongs to Haryana. Let Haryana get Chandigarh and its due share of water, then the issue can be sorted out through dialogue.       
          In reply to a question Mr.Hooda said that the Government is considering to setup a Minority Commission. He said that the Government has been functioning as per the policies of the Congress and the Congress would make a hat trick in the state as well as at the Centre.
          When asked to comment on the impact to be felt on the politics of the country and the state after declaration of Gujarat Chief Minister Mr.Narender Modi as the Prime Ministerial candidate of the BJP, Mr.Hooda said that there was no need to say much on it as what happened in Bihar would be repeated at other places. When asked to comment on the future of INLD in Haryana Mr.Hooda said that its future was bleak. In reply to a question concerning MP Rao Inderjeet opting to quit the Congress, Mr.Hooda said that Rao Inderjeet had been his class fellow as well as a friend and he has always helped him. Whether, Rao Inderjeet stays in the party or not, is his personal decision. When asked about a notice being issued to Rao Inderjeet by Congress high command, Mr.Hooda said that this issue was between both of them.
              In reply to a question concerning the formation of a separate Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandak Committee for Haryana Mr.Hooda said that when he would receive the legal opinion, he would speak on it.
          In reply to a question concerning discrimination with some areas in development, Mr.Hooda refuted the allegation saying that there has been over all development in the state. He reminded that in-charge Haryana Congress party affairs Mr.Shakeel Ahmed had, after his visit to Mewat, said that emphasis has been laid on development of all areas in the state and he need not take any certificate on this issue from any one.
          In reply to a question concerning the statement made by AICC Vice-President Mr.Rahul Gandhi on the issue of ordinance concerning tainted leaders, Mr.Hooda said that UPA Chairperson Mrs.Sonia Gandhi has also commented on it. The Congress party is with Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh. Mr.Rahul Gandhi had only expressed the feeling of a common man.
 In reply to a question concerning IAS officer of Haryana cadre Mr.Sanjeev Chaturvedi, Mr.Hooda said that this was an administrative issue. He said that the State Government is not discriminating in taking action against officers. Those making outstanding performance are rewarded whereas those found derelicting their duties are punished.        
          In reply to a question concerning promotion of tourism, especially at Badkal Lake in Faridabad and Kurukshetra, Mr.Hooda said that Haryana Space Application Centre (HARSAC) has been asked to conduct a study on how to clean and fill it. Kurukshetra will be one such place which would have replica of Tirupati Temple and temple of ISKON and Akshar Dham would also be setup there. These would make it more popular in the world.
