The Haryana government has prohibited
manufacture, storage, sale and distribution of steel and steel products
specified in the schedule, which do not confirm to the specified standards and
do not bear standard mark of Bureau of Indian Standards. These orders shall
come in to force with immediate effect.
While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the Government
has appointed General Manager District Industries Centre, Yamunanagar as
Appropriate Authority for enforcement of its steel and steel products (Quality
Control) orders 2012.
He said that the Appropriate Authority might require any person engaged
in the manufacture, storage for sale, sale or distribution of any steel or
steel products to give such information as he deems necessary relating to the
manufacture, storage for sale, sale or distribution of steel and steel products
for the implementation of this order or require any such person to furnish him
samples of any such steel and steel products.
He said that Authority might inspect the cause any books or other documents and
other steel and steel products kept by or belonging to or in the possession or
under the control of any person engaged in the manufacture, storage for sale,
sale or distribution of any steel and steel products. Samples of any steel and
steel products bearing the standard mark may be drawn by the appropriate
Authority for ascertaining whether they conform to the specified standard.
The sub-standard
or defective steel and steel products which do not conform to the specified
standard shall be disposed off as scrap as per the scheme of testing and
inspection of Bureau of Indian Standard.
