Haryana Urban Development
Authority (HUDA) is constructing 9728 houses at a cost of Rs 349.41 crore for
economically weaker sections of the society in different cities of the State.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the HUDA said that these
four-storey flats are being constructed under a scheme known
as ‘Ashiana’. He said that out of the total, 7352 houses have been
constructed at an estimated expenditure of Rs 259.44 crore. A total of
2027 flats have been constructed in Panchkula at a cost of about Rs 64.78 crores,
3080 such flats have been constructed in Faridabad with an
expenditure of Rs 113.55 crore. Similarly, 560 houses have been built in
Gurgaon at a cost of Rs 20.64 crore and 1640 in Ambala at a cost of Rs 60.47
crore.
He said that apart from this, a total of 2376 houses are being constructed
at a cost of Rs 89.97 crores at Bahadurgarh, Gurgaon, Jagadhari, Rewari
and Rohtak. These flats are expected to be completed within this financial
year.
