CHANDIGARH, JUNE 18
Village Badsa is the first village of district Jhajjar
and also of the jurisdiction of the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN)
to get round-the-clock power supply as creation of ‘Safe and Reliable
Power Distribution System’ in the village has been completed by replacing all
the naked electricity conductors with insulated cables and shifting the meters
of consumers to pillar boxes outside the villages or at spacious places.
While stating this today, a spokesman of the UHBVN said
that Badsa is sixth village of the State to be declared as zero
power cut village.
He
said that this novel scheme was launched in the State by the Member
Parliament, Rohtak, Mr Deepender Singh Hooda with a view to supply electricity
to those villages on urban mode which brings down the aggregate technical and
commercial losses substantially to a laid level and cooperate with the Nigam’s
officials in shifting the meters outside houses in pillar boxes and replacement
of bare conductor with insulated cables. The scheme is implementedin the
villages on the basis of first come first serve basis. The village Panchayats
are required to give consent in the office of concerned sub divisional officer
for the scheme.
He
said that 816 consumer meters have been relocated in pillar boxes in village
Badsa. The Nigam has spent about Rs. 40 lakhs to complete the work of erecting
the safe and reliable power distribution system in the village. The power
supply has been connected with Irrigation Pump House Feeder of 11 KV level
emanating from 33 kV sub station, Badli for providing power supply
round-the-clock in the village.
He
said that the Discoms have selected 215 feeders of 11 KV level to which 300
villages are connected in which the work of laying safe and reliable power
distribution system is to be completed to give round-the- clock power supply.
The Discoms will bear the total expenditure to be incurred on the project.
