Haryana to raise Women Reserve Battalion

Haryana Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. Shriniwas Vashisht today said that a Women Reserve Battalion would be set up in the State  to have trained women commandos. Also, Haryana Police has a proposal to set up four new women police stations in the State.Also,  a  Cyber Police Station would soon be set up in Gurgaon which would help in curbing cyber related cases.
          Mr. Vashisht said that the proposal to set up Women Reserve Battalion has already been sent to the State Government and in this regard, three companies of women commandos have been sent for training to Madhuban in district Karnal which would train women commandos within two months. He said that four new women police stations would be set up in Panchkula, Faridabad, Gurgaon and Bahadurgarh. Already two women police stations were   operational in Sonipat, he added.
          The DGP said that soon 11,000 new police personnel would be recruited to Haryana Police and those 3500 constables who would complete their training would be posted in police staff within next two months. He said that approval has been given for construction of  75 new houses and a community centre for police personnel in Kurukshetra. Giving details of new women helpline number 1091, Mr. Vashisht said that a total of 560 complaints were registered on this helpline number in Kurukshetra out of which 450 complaints had been disposed off and FIRs have been registered against 21 offenders.
          He said that special teams would be  constituted in all districts and commandos in these teams would have bullet proof jacket, ammunition and good experience. These   teams would help in time of emergency.
          Mr. Vashisht said that keeping in view traffic and safety on National Highway-1, more force would be deputed there and number of PCRs would also be increased.
