CHANDIGARH, JUNE 11
Haryana Punjabi Sahitya Academi has decided to honour 15
litterateurs of Panjabi for their outstanding works of literature for the year
2012 at a function to be organized at Haryana Raj Bhawan here on June 17.
While
stating this here today, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Dr.
K.K. Khandelwal, who is also Executive Deputy Chairman of the Academi, said
that Haryana Punjabi Gaurav Puraskar would be given away posthumously to
Haribhajan Singh Renu of Sirsa, Mahakavi Bhai Santokh Singh
Puraskar would be given away to Dr. Karamjit Singh of Kurukshetra, Baba Sheikh
Farid Puraskar would be given away to Mr. Surender Singh Oberoi of Faridabad,
Sant Taran Singh Vehmi Puraskar to Ms. Jagir Kaur Sandhu of Ellenabad and Lok
Gayak Puraskar would be conferred upon Joginder Singh Mukta of village
Jagamlera, Sant Nagar.
He
said that similarly in case of Pustak Puraskar, in poem category the award
would be given away to Ms. Sushila Sargam, in story category to Ms. Harsimran
Kaur, in novel writing to Mr. Prem Singh Barnalvi, in play category to Dr.
Pradyumn Bhalla and in child literature category to Ms. Manjit Kaur Ambalvi, in
folk literature category to Mr. Puran Singh Nirala and Rachnatmak Lekh Puraskar
would be given away to Dr. Upendrajit Kaur. First, second and third prizes
in Punjabi story writing would be given away to Ms. Preetma Domail for ‘Pacchis
Saal Baad’, Mr. Subhash Saluja for ‘Haddan Ton Agge’ and Mr. Angrej Singh for
‘Tidkiyan Chattir’ respectively.
He
said that Haryana Governor, Mr. Jagannath Pahadia would be the Chief Guest and
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda would preside over the function.
Education Minister Mrs. Geeta Bhukkal and Minister of State for Information,
Public Relations and Cultural Affairs Pt. Shiv Charan Lal Sharma would be the
guest of honour on this occasion.
