CHANDIGARH, DEC 10
The Members of the Consumer
Grievances Redressal Forum of the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam will visit
Yamuna Nagar, Karnal and Jind on December 13, 17 and 21 respectively to hear
grievances of the consumers. The consumers from distant places will not be
required to visit the office of the Forum at Panchkula for
redressal of their grievances.
While
stating this here today, a spokesman of the Nigam said that the
Forum would consider all grievances of consumers like billing problem,
voltage complaints, problems in metering, disconnection and reconnection of
power supply, interruptions, failure of power supply, efficiency, safety,
reliability and non compliance of Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission’s
orders. However, the cases of theft and unauthorized use of
electricity, offences and penalties as specified under section 135 to 139 of
Electricity Act, accidents and inquiries under section 161 of the
Act would not be considered by the Forum.
The
consumer, willing to go to the Forum, would ensure that no case in any other
court of law on similar matter is pending. The consumers will be required to
submit the complaint with full details along with a duly attested affidavit. No
fee would be charged by the Forum from the applicant.
He
said that the superintending engineers of the Nigam would hear the grievances
in their respective areas on fourth day of every month by holding
“bijli sabhas”. The information on location and timing of “bijli sabhas”
would be given in advance through local newspapers so that maximum consumers
are benefited. In case of holiday on 4th, the “bijli sabhas” will be
held on the next working day where efforts would be made to redress grievances
on the spot, he added.
