Haryana Director General of Police Shriniwas Vashisht said
that as result of the success of system of e-challaning of vehicles in
Faridabad and Panchkula, now it would be implemented in the entire State from January
2013.
The system will involved a central
server conducting all the districts and e-chalans will be issued by using hand
held machines. The offenders will able to pay the required fine for traffic violation
on the spot itself and obtain receipt. The machine will also intimate if the
person is a repeat offender, meriting higher fine under law. If the vehicle
concerned is involved in some crime or is stolen, the hand held machine will be
able to detect it form the server. This will not only facilitate the public in
payment of fine, but also work as a deterrent against stealing vehicles.
Mr.
Vashisht was reviewing the law and order situation in the State in a meeting
with all Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), Inspector Generals of Police
(IGP) Ranges and Police Commissioners through video conferencing here today.
To
keep a check on theft of vehicles in the National Capital Region
(NCR), the DGP asked the Commissioners of Police, Gurgaon, Faridabad
and concerned SSPs to prepare a joint strategy in this regard and said that for
this extra force would be provided to them.
He
said that an intensive campaign would be launched in the State to nab the
proclaimed offenders. He said that to keep a check on the incidents of
chain snatching and eve teasing, police personnel should be deployed at the
nakas and crowded places in civil dress.
Mr.
Vashisht directed the senior field functionaries of the police department to
ensure speedy disposal of pending cases concerning different crimes on priority
basis. He said that it would not only ease the burden of police but would also
instill a sense of satisfaction among the people towards the functioning of
policing system in the State. The DGP directed that in all criminal cases reported
in the police stations, FIR should be registered immediately and speedy
investigation into the cases should be done.
The DGP laid special stress on solving violent
property crimes in the state. Such crimes have been reported from Panipat (Murder
and looting of cash in Samalkha) Gurgaon and Jhajjar districts. He expressed satisfaction
that most of these cases have been traced by sustained police efforts. An
intensive campaign would be launched in the state to nab the proclaimed
offenders, he added.
