Eid was celebrated with great fun and fervor in the premises
of St. Vivekanand Millennium School, Pinjore. The student and members of staff
exchanged greeting and wished “Eid Mubarak” to each other. Rahul of Vindya
House elaborated the importance of Eid-ul-Fitr to the students. The Muslims
observe fasts in the month of Ramjan. They take water and eat only after the sunset
and remain empty stomach whole of the day. They believe that these fasts purify
them physically mentally and spiritually. After catching the sight of new moon
on the last day gifts and distributing sweets to each other. They offer namaz
at Idgah and give alms to the poor and needy. The tiny tots of the primary section
of the school embraced each other, distributed sevaians, sweets and wished “Eid
Mubarak” to each other. The teachers briefed the students regarding the
importance of Eid-ul-Fitr to the students. Mr. Piyush Punj, principal of the
school congratulated all on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr and urged the students to
maintain the feelings of sacrifice, universal brotherhood and communal harmony in
the society to make India a torch bearer in the world.
