Appointing authority competent to sanction 730 days CCL leave

With a view to streamline the sanctioning  of Child Care Leave (CCL) to its women employees, the Haryana Government has decided that in case of Group C and D employees, the appointing authority will be competent to sanction the CCL for upto 730 days.
                While stating this today, Haryana Finance Minister, Mr. H. S Chattha said that  in case of employees of Group A and B, the Head of Department would sanction leave of upto 120 days. Similarly, in case of leave for more than 120 days for employees of Group A and B, the Administrative Secretaries would be competent to sanction leave.
He said that instructions have also been issued by the Finance Department that the Administrative Secretaries, Head of Departments and Appointing Authorities might re-delegate the powers, delegated to them, to any officer  under them at their headquarter offices on their own overall responsibility and subject to such conditions and restrictions as they might like to impose.
He said that earlier it was decided that  cases would be sent to Finance Department  for sanction of CCL for a period of more than  120 days, if to be spent within India  and of 240 days  if to be spent out of India. However, he said, while sanctioning CCL, the sanctioning authority should keep in view that the functioning of offices or institutions should not be disrupted.
Chandigarh November 7- Haryana Health Minister, Rao Narender Singh would be the Chief Guest at a national workshop on ‘Homeopathy  in Cardiology’ in New Delhi on November 10 and he would also inaugurate this workshop.
        While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that this workshop is being organized in view of the 19th MTNL Perfect Health Fair.

STEPS TO CHECK ADULTERATION
 With a view to check adulteration of food during the festival season, Haryana Food and Drug Administration has directed all civil surgeons in the State to collect samples of all food items.
        While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Department said that these directions have been issued to all civil surgeons and other officials of same rank to collect the samples of food items, especially milk and milk products, water and ‘desi ghee’. Food safety officers have been directed to also collect   maximum samples of food items being sold as duplicate brands.
THREE ARRESTED FOR EVE TEASING
  Haryana Police has arrested three persons as they were indulged in eve teasing and threatening to kill them, near Jind bypass in Rohtak last evening.
        While stating this today, a spokesman of the Police Department said that a complaint was lodged by a woman that some persons were indulged in eve teasing and were even threatening to kill her near Gohana bus stand. Acting swiftly, the police   arrested three such persons who were identified as Vipul and  Himanshu, a resident of Mahabir colony and Mani, a resident of Paada Mohalla. He said that the accused have admitted having teased women and  threatened them. He said that the accused were produced in the court from where they have been sent to jail.
        In a similar incident, the police have arrested one more person from Khokhra Kot in Rohtak city who has been identified as Badi alias Sunny, a resident of Tej Colony, Rohtak. He said that the accused was produced in the court from where he was sent to jail.

 MID-DAY MEALSCHEME
Haryana Directorate of Elementary Education has issued guidelines to ensure smooth functioning of the  mid-day meal scheme   and further improve quality of meal in the schools.
          In a written communication addressed to all District Elementary Education Officers (DEEOs) in the state, the department has instructed them to make adequate storage arrangements in schools. They have also been asked to focus on maintaining cleanliness and also direct  the cooks in this regard. This year, containers are to be sent  to all schools for storage of foodgrains.
          They  have also been asked to direct mid-day meal cooks to prepare food items in a hygienic atmosphere and use clean utensils for this purpose. The mid-day meal should be served at a clean place in the school. Any dish could be served out of the menu of 16 recipes already issued by the department provided that any dish should not be made twice a week.
          District level committee would examine the quality and weight of foodgrain before lifting it from depots of Food Corporation of India. They have been directed that  foodgrains kept in the open space should not be lifted and purchase  should be made only from godowns of Food Corporation of India and Hafed.
          Either DEEO or Deputy DEEO or Block Education Officer should be present at the time of foodgrain lifting. All DEEOs would ensure that some members of self help groups remain present whenever concerned officers of Hafed   provide foodgrains
