With demand
for Indian honey increasing in Europe, the production of Honey in Haryana is
fast gaining ground as the state expects a production of 2500 tonnes of Honey
during this year as against 2000 tonnes of Honey produced in last year.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Haryana Agriculture Department
said that the business in Honey was showing an increase of 15 per cent every
year in the State.
He said that India accounts for annual export of about 55,000 tonnes of Honey.
With the profession of bee keeping getting congenial atmosphere, the unemployed
youth are finding ample opportunities in the field of production of Honey in
the State.
He said that with the flowering of early variety of mustard and eucalyptus in
the districts of Jind, Bhiwani, Narnaul, Rewari and Jhajjar by the end of
November, those engaged in bee keeping are installing their boxes for
production of Honey. The State Government is taking effective steps to promote
this profession and the State Horticulture Department has been imparting
training in bee keeping free of cost from time to time to the unemployed youth.
It also helps them in getting loan from banks to set up their own ventures.
TWO TELCOM TOWERS SEALED
Two
telecommunication towers belonging to two different companies have been sealed
at village Dhogra Ahir in district Narnaul today as they had not deposited the
prescribed fee for their towers that were functional in rural areas.
While stating this today, a spokesman of District Administration said that such
towers had also been sealed earlier for violation of the rules.
He said that it was mandatory for such companies to pay a lump sum fee of Rs
one lakh to set up such towers in rural areas. Out of it Rs 75,000 are
forwarded to the account of the Gram Panchayat. Also, the companies have to pay
Rs 10,000 per year.
KALPANA CHAWLA MEDICAL COLLEGE
The Kalpana
Chawla Medical College to be constructed in Karnal would be completed in a
record period of 25 months and it would have 500-bed hospital.
This was stated by Political Advisor to Haryana Chief Minister, Prof. Virender
adding that the Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda would lay the
foundation stone of this Rs 650 crore Medical College on November 18. He said
that the existing hospital in Karnal would also be made a part of the college.
He said that 864 posts have been sanctioned for smooth functioning of the
Medical College Hospital. These posts included 70 posts of Professors,
Associate Professors and Assistant Professors and Senior Doctors. The hospital
would be got constructed by Hospital Consultancy Corporation India which is a
prestigious organization of the Central Government. He said that the people of
Karnal, Kaithal, Panipat, Yamunanagar and Kurukshetra districts would be
immensely benefitted.
