CHANDIGARH, NOV 12
Haryana Punjabi Sahitya Akademi has announced the results
of Punjabi Story Writing Competition organized during March-April 2012.
While stating this here today, Director of the Akademi, Mr. Sukhchain
Singh Bhandari said that the objective of the competition was to
encourage the story writers towards Punjabi story writing. A total of 27
entries were received for the competition. The three stories that were
selected for first, second and third prize included ‘Madaari’ written by
Mr. Surinder Singh Obrai of Faridabad, ‘Patharan Cho Khidde Phul’ of
Mrs. Jagir Kaur Sandhu, Ellenabad and ‘Manukhata Aje Mari Nahi’ of Mr.
Iqbaal Singh, Ratia in district Fatehabad. The winners of first, second
and third prizes would be given Rs.2500, Rs.1500 and Rs.1000
respectively.
He said that seven other stories selected for consolation prizes were
namely ‘Jaap Te Janu’ by Mr. Harnam Singh of Fatehabad, ‘Kaleja Apna
Nahi Vechna’ by Mrs. Indu Gupta of Faridabad, ‘Maluka’ by Mr. Lakhwinder
Singh Bajwa of Rania, ‘Dish Set’ by Mrs. Kanwaljit Kaur Juneja of
Rohtak, ‘Dheeyan Ghar De Bhag’ by Gurpreet Kaur Saini of Hisar, ‘Nazar’
by Mr. Raghubir Ishar of Kurukshetra, and ‘Joge Di Venus’ by Mr.
Puran Singh Nirala of Ellenabad. The stories selected under consolation
prize category would be given prize money of Rs.500 each.
He said that a Kahani Darbar would soon be organized where all
writers would be honoured. These stories would be published in ‘Shabd
Boond’, a monthly magazine of the Akademi.
MRS GEETA EXTENDS DEEWALI GREETINGS
The Haryana Education Minister, Mrs. Geeta Bhukkal has
extended greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Diwali,
the festival of lights.
In
a message issued here today, Mrs. Bhukkal said that the festival of
lights signifies the victory of good over evil and strengthen our
resolve to follow the true ethical values in life. She wished the
festival would bring happiness and prosperity to all.
KRIDA SHRI APPOINTED UNDER PYAKKA SCHEME
With a view to promote sports among the youth in district
Sirsa, ‘Krida Shri’ have been appointed in 81 villages of the district
under the Panchayat Yuva Krida Aur Khel Abhiyan (PYKKA) scheme.
While
stating this today, Deputy Commissioner, Dr. J. Ganeshan said that
sports kits each costing Rs 10,000 were being provided to these
villages.
He
said that two sports stadia have been built in the district and these
are known as Chaudhary Dalbir Singh Indoor Stadium and Shaheed Bhagat
Singh Stadium. These stadia included two volleyball courts, two
basketball courts, athletic tracks, a hockey Astroturf, a cricket
ground, a handball ground, judo ground and gymnastics ground. He said
that three basketball coaches, two volleyball coaches, a hockey coach, a
gymnastics coach, two judo coaches, and an athletic coach were
imparting training at these sports grounds. Also, two other stadia were
set up at Chautala and Dabwali.
THE HARYAND PROMOTES 60 NURSES
Haryana Health Department has promoted 60 Staff Nurses as Nursing Sisters.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Department said that their posting orders have also been issued.
