Gorakhpur to be developed as Model Village

A comprehensive plan has been  formulated to develop village Gorakhpur in district Fatehabad as a ‘model village’ and more than Rs 100 crore would be spent to implement various development projects in this village. These projects included a 55-bed hospital to be set up at a cost of Rs 35 crore in the village.
While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the  farmers of villages namely Gorakhpur, Kajalhedi and Baropal have helped in further accelerating the pace of development by providing land for the setting up of a Nuclear Power Plant. He said that with the setting up of this Plant in Gorakhpur, new developmental projects would be initiated   which would prove beneficial for the people.
He said that   proposals to set up a college  and an institute to provide technical courses to the children were under consideration. He said that with a view to conserve wildlife, a deer park would also be set up for which land would be provided by the Gram Panchayat.
        He said that about Rs 10 crore would be spent on drainage system and for constructing ‘Pucca’ roads in the village. About Rs three crore would be spent to set up a modern park and Rs one crore would be spent to develop a modern herbal park in 11 acres of land in the village. Also, Shiv Gaushala would be developed into modern Gaushala. He said that all the villages adjoining Gorakhpur would be connected to it through wide roads and the rest house of Irrigation Department located in Baropal would be developed as a heritage centre.
