Significant achievement by Haryana

CHANDIGARH, NOV 1

Haryana has achieved 192.1 per cent of the total projections of Aggregate Plan Resources during the 11^th Five Year Plan, which is the highest in the country.

          This significant achievement of the State is according to the Report of the Working Group on State’s Financial Resources for the 12^th Five Year Plan that is 2012-17 released by the Planning Commission of India in May 2012.

          The neighbouring State of Punjab could achieve only 87.5 per cent, one of the lowest in India.

          According to the same Report, the rate of growth of Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) during 11^th Plan at current prices was 19.5 per cent in Haryana and 14.3 per cent in Punjab. Haryana borrowed 89.7 per cent of the projected borrowings whereas Punjab borrowed 113.2 per cent which is the highest in the country.

          The State of Haryana realised 118.3 per cent of the projections of the Central assistance, whereas Punjab could only avail 67.9 per cent.
