Releasing first instalment of pending arrears before Diwali

Haryana Cooperation and Housing Minister  Satpal Sangwan today announced to release first installment of 40 per cent of the pending arrears of recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission to the employees of State’s Central Cooperative Banks before Diwali.
        Addressing the media persons here today, Mr. Sangwan said that this would benefit 4864 employees of State Central Cooperative Banks with Rs 61.63 crore apart from about 4500 employees of Haryana Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies. Therefore, about 8500 employees would be benefitted with more the Rs 150 crore. He said that as per the policy of the government, the banks at their own level would pay arrears to the employees at a rate of 40, 30 and 30 per cent within two years and no interest would be paid on it.
        He said that the representatives of Haryana State Central Cooperative Bank Employee Union had met him several times in this regard and he had apprised Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda with this issue. Keeping in view the interest of the employees, Mr. Hooda has given Diwali gift to the employees by giving approval for the payment of the arrears to them. He said that the arrears would be paid to the employees for the   period between January 1, 2006 and December 31, 2008 as per New Pay Scale.
        He said that the financial condition of some banks was not good earlier which had now improved a lot. At present, 80 per cent banks were running in profit and this could not have been possible without the hard work of the employees.
        While replying to the media persons, Mr. Sangwan said that Panipat has become the first district of the State in which all the branches of Central Cooperative Banks have been made online. He said that so far out of a total of 6547 branches, 155 branches have been made online. He said that with the commencement of Core Banking System, ATM facility in the Central Cooperative Banks would also be provided to the customers.
        While replying to a question regarding irregularities committed in Haryana Housing Board, Panipat, Mr. Sangwan said that in this regard the Planner Vibha Walia, and two Estate Officers namely Mahender Singh and Roshan Lal have already been suspended. He said that today orders have been issued to suspend a Superintending Engineer, a Sub-Divisional Officer and a Junior Engineer and FIRs have been registered against them.
        He said that 11,548 new houses and flats of different categories were being constructed by the Housing Board during this year. He said that the crushing of the sugarcane would be started at Panipat Cooperative Sugar Mill on November 17, 2012. When asked about the Minimum Support Price of sugarcane, he said that a meeting has been convened under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister on November 8 to decide it
