The Haryana Government would seek legal opinion in the case of
3206 JBT teachers, after getting a copy of the judgment.
This was stated by Haryana Education Minister Mrs. Geeta Bhukkal while
replying to the questions of media persons at Panchkula today.
Mrs. Bhukkal clarified that the government would not work with political vendetta.
On
being asked to comment on the report of Justice Verma Committee, she
said that thousands of suggestions were received by the committee to
decide the punishment about crime against woman. The final decision
about the report submitted by the committee would be taken by the
Central Government. She said that any penalty or punishment for such
heinous crime against woman is less.
In reply to another question, Mrs. Bhukkal said that 1091 helpline
number had been started in the state to help the women in distress.
