Haryana Punjabi Sahitya Akademi awards

 Haryana Punjabi Sahitya Akademi has invited applications from Haryana domicile Punjabi writers and scholars to confer various awards for the year 2013.

          While stating this here today, Director of the Akademi, Mr. Sukhchain Singh Bhandari said that these awards included Haryana Punjabi Gaurav Puraskar, Mahakavi Bhai Santokh Singh Puraskar, Baba Sheikh Farid Puraskar, Sant Taran Singh Vahemi Puraskar, Kavi Haribhajan Singh Rainu Puraskar, Punjabi Patrakarita Puraskar and Ragi/ Dhadi/ Lok Gayak Puraskar.

          He said that there would be one award under Punjabi Pustak Puraskar Scheme for creative write-up, biography, travelogue or autobiography published between January 1 and December 31, 2012 could only be sent. These could be poetry story, novel, play, child literature, folk literature and satire.

He said that four manuscripts could be sent under Punjabi Pustak Prakashan Sahayata Anudan Yojana for poetry, story, child literature, folk literature, reviews, humourous satire, novel, play or art of Haryana, culture, history, literature and research management. Under the Punjabi Kahani Pratiyogita Yojana, four copies of unpublished stories could be sent, he added.

          He said that application form for all awards could be obtained free of cost either by hand or by post from Akademi Bhawan, Panchkula and these could be submitted by February 28,2013.

          He said that a scheme was also being implemented to give financial assistance to writers suffering from chronic diseases.
