Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that a
new train between Jaipur and Chandigarh via Rewari-Jhajjar-Rohtak would
soon be started.
Mr.
Hooda was speaking at a function after inaugurating a photo exhibition
entitled as ‘Yugon Yugon Mein Haryana’ organized by Haryana Rajya
Pravasi Nagrik Manch at Haryana Bhawan in Jaipur.
The
Chief Minister said that recently a new railway line has been made
functional between Rewari and Rohtak via Jhajjar and this is the first
railway line in the Northern India, the half of expenditure of which has
been borne by the State Government. He said that recently he had an
interaction with the Union Railway Minister that as the
Rewari-Jhajjar-Rohtak railway line has been made functional, a new train
would now be started between Jaipur and Chandigarh.
He
said that he is feeling at home in Jaipur and he is happy over the fact
that people of Haryana residing in Jaipur have not forgotten their
roots. He said that he is happy to observe that out of the total
population of Haryana, 11 per cent people reside in Jaipur and the
culture of both the States is almost similar. He said that during the
past seven years, Haryana has made all round development at an
accelerated pace. When he became the Chief Minister of the State in
2005, Haryana was at fourteenth position in terms of per capita
investment whereas today it is number one in the country. Similarly, in
terms of per capita income, apart from Goa, it occupies number one
position amongst all big states in the country.
Mr. Hooda also announced a give Rs 21 lakh to the Haryana Rajya Pravasi Nagrik Manch out of his discretionary fund.

Haryana Rajya Pravasi Nagrik Manch, Mr. Gajraj Singh and General
Secretary of the Manch, Dr. Gian Chand Sharma also spoke on the
occasion.

Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee, Mr. Phool Chand Mullana, Chief
Parliamentary Secretary, Rao Dan Singh, Principal OSD to Chief Minister,
Mr. M.S. Chopra, Vice-president, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee ,
Mr. Chakravarti Sharma, Vice President of the Manch, Mr. H.P. Kuchhal
and other dignitaries were also present on this occasion.
