The Indian Army
Recruiting Office (ARO) , Ambala Cantt. will hold an open recruitment rally to
recruit Soldier General Duty, Soldier Clerk, Store Keeper, Soldier Technical
and Religious Teacher at Karan Stadium, Karnal from February 5 to 15.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Army Recruiting Office said that
recruitment rally would be held for the candidates of six districts namely
Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Yamunanagar, Kaithal and Panchkula and also for
Union Territory, Chandigarh the same day. On February 5, the recruitment for
the category of RRT-71 would also be conducted for all candidates who have
received call letter from ARO, Ambala hailing from Haryana except
districts of Palwal, Faridabad, Gurgaon and Mewat, Himachal Pradesh and Union
Territory, Chandigarh.
He said that on
February 5, the recruitment for the post of Soldier General Duty would be
conducted only for Sikh and Sikh Mazhbi and Ramdasia and Gorkha candidates
hailing from districts Ambala, Karnal, Kaithal, Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar,
Panchkula and Chandigarh. Similarly on February 6, the recruitment for the post
of Soldier General Duty would be carried out for the candidates except Sikh and
Sikh Mazhbi and Ramdasia and Gorkha hailing from district Karnal, Panchkula and
Chandigarh. On February 7, 8 and 9, the recruitment for the same post would be
carried out for the candidates except Sikh, Sikh Mazhbi and Ramdasia and Gorkha
hailing from district Ambala, Kaithal, Kurukshetra and Yamunagar.
He said that on
February 10, 11 and 12, the recruitment for the post of Soldier Clerk or
Storekeeper would be conducted for candidates belonging to all castes hailing
from district Kurukshetra, Karnal, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kaithal, Panchkula and
Chandigarh.
He said that on
February 13, the recruitment for the post of Soldier Technical would be carried
out for candidates belonging to all categories castes hailing from district
Ambala, Karnal, Kaithal, Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar, Panchkula and Chandigarh.
Medical would be conducted on February 14 and 15.
He said that the age
of candidates applying for the Soldier General Duty category should be between
seventeen-and-a-half years to 21 years and candidates should have passed matric
examination with minimum 45 per cent marks and 32 per cent marks in each
subject or should have passed 10+2 examination. For Soldier Clerk and Store
Keeper category age limit should be in between seventeen-and-a-half years to 23
years and candidates should have passed 10 plus 2 or intermediate in any stream
with 50 per cent marks in aggregate and 40 per cent marks in each subject with
English and Mathematics or Accountancy or Book Keeping as compulsory in matric
or 10 plus 2 examination. For Soldier Technical category, age limit should be
17-and-a-half years to 23 years and candidates should have passed 10+2 in
Science with Physics, Chemistry, Math and English.
He said that for
eligibility, permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face of
forearms that is from inside of elbow to the wrist and on the reverse side of
palm or back side of hand. Permanent body tattoos on any other part of the body
are not acceptable and candidates will be barred from further selection. Tribes
with tattoo marks on the face or body as per their existing custom and
traditions will be permitted on a case to case basis.
He said that the
recruitment in the Army is conducted purely on the basis of merit and he cautioned
the aspirants and their parents not to fall prey to touts and do not waste
their hard earned money.
