35000 students to participate in SPAT test

As many as 35,000 students from all over Haryana  would participate in the  last phase of Sports and Physical Aptitude Test (SPAT)-2013 to be held in different districts of the State from February 23 to March 1.
          While stating this here today, Director General, Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Mr. Sudhir Rajpal said that the Department has issued programme for the SPAT-2013. He said that  5000 children falling in age group of 8 to 19 years would be selected for sports scholarship. Out of those, those falling between age group of 8 and 14 years would be given scholarship amounting to Rs 1500 per month whereas those in the age group of 15 to 19 years would be given sports scholarship of Rs 2000 per month. They would also be entitled to other sports facilities. He said that with a view to make the selection procedure transparent, videography would be done and to make it impartial trainers from other districts have been assigned duty in each district.
          He said that SPAT   would be organized at War Heroes Stadium in Ambala Cantt. on February 23, at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula on February 24, Tejli Sports Complex, Yamunanagar on February 25, Dronacharya Stadium, Kurukshetra on February 23, Patti Afgan Stadium, Kaithal from February 24 to 26, Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Gurgaon on February 23 and 24, Model School of Nuh, Mewat on February 23, at Sports Complex, Sector 12, Faridabad on February 24, at Sports Stadium, Palwal from February 25 to 27 and at Rao Tula Ram Stadium, Rewari on February 25 and 26. Similarly, last phase of SPAT   would be held at Netaji Subhash Chander Bose Stadium from February 25 to March 1, at Mahavir Stadium, Hisar from February 23 to 27, at Bhim Stadium, Bhiwani from February 23 to 28, at Navdeep Stadium, Jind from February 27 to March 1, at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium, Sirsa on February 23, at Bhodiya Khera Stadium, Fatehabad on February 27 and 28, at Sir Chhotu Ram Stadium, Rohtak from February 27 to March 1, at Sports Complex, Jhajjar from February 23 to 25, at Karan Stadium, Karnal on February 23 and 24, at Shivaji Stadium, Panipat on February 25 and 26, and at Moti Lal Nehru Sports School, Rai, Sonipat from February 25 to 27, he added.
 CM inauugurates photograph gallery
Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda inaugurated a gallery of photographs of about 100 Members of the Legislative Assembly  of the State in the complex of Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today. He was accompanied by Speaker Haryana Vidhan Sabha, Mr Kuldeep Sharma and Deputy Speaker Mr Akram Khan.
The period of tenure of each MLA has also been mentioned on their photographs.
It may be recalled that the earlier also, Mr. Hooda had  inaugurated a photo gallery depicting portraits of freedom fighters of Haryana in the year 2012 in the Vidhan Sabha.
It is for the first time in the history of Haryana Vidhan Sabha that photographs of freedom fighters and prominent legislators have been displayed in the State Assembly on the initiative of Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Mr. Kuldeep Sharma and  Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
          A number of MLAs were also present on the occasion.
  Volvo bus service to Chandigarh-Delhi-Gurgaon restored
A spokesman of Haryana Roadways said that Volvo Bus service to Chandigarh-Delhi-Gurgaon has been restored. Haryana Roadways has got the tinted glass of Multi-axle Super Luxury Volvo buses replaced with transparent glass and all the 26 timings are being adhered to and about half hourly service is being provided. Online booking has also been restarted.
          Haryana Roadways regrets the inconvenience caused to its patrons due to operational disturbance of its service on account of certain unavoidable circumstances.
