Akademi has invited applications from Punjabi writers and scholars to give away
awards under different categories for the year 2013.
While giving this information here today, Director of the Akademi Mr.
Sukhchain Singh Bhandari said these awards included Haryana Punjabi Gaurav
Puraskar, Mahakavi Bhai Santokh Singh Puraskar, Baba Sheikh Farid Puraskar,
Sant Taran Singh Vehmi Puraskar, Kavi Haribhajan Singh Rainu Puraskar, Punjabi
Patrakarita Puraskar, Ragi /Dhadi/ Lok Gayak Puraskar and under
Punjabi Pustak Puraskar Yojna awards would be in
the categories of poetry, story, novel, play, children’s literature, folk
literature and satire, including creative articles, biography, travelogue and
autobiography . He said that books published between January 1, 2011 and
December 31, 2012 could also be submitted.
Applications have also been invited from the writers suffering from major
diseases under the Financial Assistance Scheme.
He said that under the Punjabi Pustak Prakashan Sahayta Anudan Yojna,
poetry, story, novel, play, children’s literature, literature,
satire, creative articles, biography, travelogue and autobiography should be
based on the subject of Haryana’s culture, tradition, history, literature and
research management. He said that the applicants would have to send four
manuscripts of the above categories duly typed to the Akedemi. Similarly, under
the Punjabi Kahani Pratiyogita Yojna, four copies of original and unpublished
stories would have to be sent, he added.
He said that the application forms for all categories of awards could be
obtained either personally or through post from Akademi Bhawan, Panchkula free
of cost. Only the Punjabi writers who are the residents of Haryana could only
be eligible for these awards. Applications for the awards should reach the
Akademi Bhawan by February 28, 2013, he added.
