Haryana Transport Department has decided to
get accident prone points in the State identified afresh by conducting a survey
through Public Works (Building and Roads) Department, Traffic Police and other
concerned Department.
While stating this today, Transport Commissioner, Mrs Sumita Misra said that
earlier a joint survey was conducted by the Traffic Police and Public Works
(Building and Roads) Department in which 1170 accident prone points were
identified in the year 2010. About 800 of these points have already been
rectified. She said that identification and rectification of accident prone
points was required to be undertaken on regular basis.
She said that, therefore, a written communication has been sent to Inspector
General Police (Traffic), Engineer-in-Chief Public Works (Building and Roads)
Department and all Deputy Commissioners in the State urging them to get a fresh
survey conducted to identify accident prone points and a detailed report in
this regard be sent to her by positively March 15,2013 . Secretaries of all
Regional Transport Authorities too have been informed of the decision, she
added.
