Elementary Education Department has incurred a sum of over Rs 2548 crore
till January 15, 2013 out of the total budget allocation of over Rs.3108
crore earmarked for the current financial year. The total budget
allocation of over Rs.3108 crore for this financial year was 37 per cent higher
allocation as compared to over Rs. 2268.55 crore during the year 2011-12.
While stating this here today, Education Minister, Mrs. Geeta Bhukkal said that
access of education to all is one of the primary focus area of the state
government. Huge amount was being invested by the government for this purpose.
She said that free text books and work books, scholarships were being given to
children to reduce school dropout rate and to provide quality education to each
and every student.
She said that the main objective of Mid-day meal scheme being implemented in
the schools is to increase enrolment, retention and attendance and
simultaneously providing nutritious food to the students of primary classes.
Under the scheme, the school children were provided cooked food like Vegetable
Pulao, Paushtik Khichri, Dal Chawal, Kari Chawal, Rice and Black Chana, Sweet
Kheer, Rice and White Chana, Rice and Rajmah, Roti and seasonal Vegetable,
Wheat Halwa with Black Chana, Roti and Dal, Stuff Paratha, Sweet Dalia, Wheat
Savien, Roti and Potato Mater, Stuffed Parantha. School heads have been
directed not to repeat a particular recipe within a week.
Mrs. Bhukkal said that School Management Committees (SMCs) have been
constituted all across the State and all are functioning well. Funds are being
directly transferred to SMC’s for decentralization of powers and for their
strengthening. Regular meetings of SMC members are being organized. House Hold
Survey of children (0 to 14 years) to identify drop out and out of school
children is being done by the Department to ensure 100 per cent enrolment in
Haryana State. Neighbourhood has been specified for almost each and every child
of Haryana to provide Primary School within a limit of one Kilometer and Middle
School within a limit of three Kilometer and the same is made available on-line
by the Department.
The Elementary Education Department has introduced a Toll Free No. 1800-3010-0110 to
receive public or students grievances for their urgent redressal. To enhance
the enrollment of girl child it was decided to shift the AWC’s which are in
private building in Government Primary Schools premises. Till date 2454 AWCs
have been shifted in the Government Primary Schools. More and more AWC’s are
being shifted in government primary schools.
