Haryana Tourism has decided to give the facility of 10 per
cent discount on food to tourists visiting any of its tourist resorts in
the State on World Tourism Day,which falls on September 27.
While stating this here today, Managing Director, Haryana
Tourism Corporation, Mrs Sumita Misra said that Haryana Tourism is adding
new facilities at its tourist complexes. A convention hall of 1000-person
capacity is being constructed at Red Bishop Tourist Complex, Panchkula. The
renovation and upgrading of the facilities are in full swing at the tourist
complexes in Ambala, Bahadurgarh, Pipli, Kurukshetra, Panipat, Karnal, Rai,
Pehowa, Sohna, Faridabad, Dharuhera, Bhiwani and Mansa Devi. New rooms are
being constructed at Koel Tourist Complex, Kaithal. Also, new buildings are
coming up at State Institutes of Hotel Management in Faridabad and Yamunanagar.
Among the other recent achievements of Haryana Tourism, a budget thali
introduced at Tourist Complexes for only Rs 60 plus taxes, has received an
overwhelming response, and under the Hunar Se Rozgar Tak programme, about 14
Tourist Complexes of Haryana Tourism and four State Institutes of Hotel
Management across the State are conducting two courses that include Food
Production and Food and Beverage Service, which are of eight and
six weeks duration respectively.
She said that the State has a number of places of
historical and religious importance like Kurukshetra, much is revered for its
sacred association with the Vedic culture and the epic Mahabharata. Surajkund,
in Faridabad district, about 8 km from South Delhi, has many tourist
attractions and complexes developed by Haryana Tourism around the sacred
Sunpool, a protected monument from which this place gets its name.Pinjore, an
old historic township that captures attention of everyone, where history blends
with mythology, is the gateway to popular hill stations like Kasauli, Chail and
Shimla. The tourists are in for a royal treat when at Pinjore Gardens,
the major attraction of this town.The annual Surajkund International Crafts
Mela and Pinjore Heritage Mela are much sought after festivals organised at
these venues for the promotion of art and crafts of the country.
Haryana pioneered in the field of tourism promotion by
launching highway tourism in 1966. Over the years, Haryana Tourism has achieved
many milestones in every form of tourism – Heritage, Pilgrim, MICE, Golf, Farm
and Adventure. At present it operates 43 tourist resorts and the total
availability of accommodation is of 781 rooms. The complexes offer an ideal
venue for hosting official meets, weddings or any other grand function.
The state-of-the-art conference rooms and banquet halls, equipped with
efficient kitchens, wi-fi enabled communication, spacious lobbies, landscaped
