Haryana Education Minister Geeta Bhukkal said that with a
view to make the youth self-reliant, the state government is laying emphasis on
their skill development and introduction of vocational courses in the
educational institutions in the state.
While
stating this today at Jhajjar, Mrs. Bhukkal said that emphasis on development
of skill of the youth,in their chosen courses, is being laid in the Industrial
Training Institutes (ITIs). She said that from the beginning of the academic
session, the students are provided with toolkits. Prominent companies like
TATA, Hero, Jindal and Maruti Suzuki Limited have been linked with the ITIs to
provide them with employment opportunities. She said that the reputed
industrial houses have tied-up with the ITIs and are providing training to the
students. The placement cells in the ITIs are working efficiently towards
placing the students in the reputed industries, she added.
She
said that ITIs have been opened in the state to make the youth technically
sound and the education department has drafted outline of a new plan
to provide them training in a better way. She said that there is a scheme to
get the old furniture of the government schools repaired by the ITI trained
students which would provide a better training opportunity to them. She said
that Nodal Officers would also be appointed to keep a check on the working of
ITIs at district level.
