Minister Capt. Ajay Singh Yadav today directed officials of power utilities to
begin the process to provide power connections in the unauthorized
colonies as per the policy of the State Government.
It
may be recalled that Haryana Management of Civic Amenities and
Infrastructure Deficient Municipal Areas (Special Provisions) Bill, 2013
was passed in the recent session of the State Assembly to provide basic
facilities to the people in the unauthorized colonies for which common
compounding policy is being prepared.
Capt. Ajay Singh Yadav was reviewing functioning of power utilities in a
meeting with their senior officers here today.
Capt. Ajay Singh Yadav said that the electricity connections of the defaulters,
who had not paid their electricity bills, would not be disconnected in case
they are ready to pay 50 per cent of the balance amount. He said that such
consumers would be given another chance to pay their due balance. Also, a
letter of commitment should be taken from such defaulters that they
would soon pay the second installment of their remaining amount, he
added.
During the meeting, he reviewed a total of 147 complaints out of which 81 were
related to Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, 55 to Dakshin Haryana Bijli
Vitran Nigam and 11 to Vigilance Wing.
