The Haryana
Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda, today sought the services of
retired defence officers to impart training to Haryana Police personnel so as
to further improve their efficiency.
Mr
Hooda, who interacting with General Bikram Singh, Chief of Army Staff of the
Indian Army, at his residence here today urged him to help Haryana in
further improving the skill of the police force. This, he said, would not only
strengthen the functioning of Police Department, but would also further infuse
in them the spirit of dedication to duty.
General
Bikram Singh said that he would make every possible effort to provide best
retired defence officers for this purpose. He said that keeping in view the
interest of the people, he would hand over a list of retired engineers, able IT
professionals and retired experts from all other fields to the state
government. He wished that a welfare housing project should be prepared for the
families of defence personnel so that houses could be provided to them at
affordable prices. He urged the Chief Minister to provide land at reasonable
rate for this purpose.
He also
urged the Chief Minister to set up an airbase at Chandimandir to provide
training to the newly appointed pilots. While appreciating the proposal
put forth by Mr Bikram Singh, Mr Hooda said that with the setting up of an
airbase at Chandimandir, not only people of the state, but of entire country
would be benefitted. He said that as scheme to provide housing
facility at affordable prices is already being implemented by the state
government, the proposal to provide residential facility to the defence
personnel would also be considered positively. He said that ten per cent
reservation is being given to the defence personnel in the defence colonies
being set up at Rewari, Dadri and Mahendergarh.
