The Haryana
Government has decided to recommence the admission process in the Industrial
Training Institutes (ITIs) which would be held from September
23 to September 30, 2013.
While stating this here today, Haryana Industrial Training Minister, Mrs. Geeta
Bhukkal said that admissions would be held exclusively under State Council
Vocational Training (SCVT) scheme for both government and private institutes.
She said that with the improvement of quality infrastructure, the pass
percentage in ITI under SCVT scheme has risen by 22.3 per cent in the
examination held in year 2013. She said that 82.6 per cent students had
declared passed in July 2013 as against the 60.3 per cent students in year
2012. This year, as many as 14635 students appeared for examination out of
which 12083 have been declared passed. Similarly, 11819 students appeared
in last year examination out of which 7132 were declared passed.
The Minister said that in case of National Council Vocational Training (NCVT)
scheme, the pass percentage has also increased in such institutes. Under NCVT
scheme, the pass percentage in year 2013 remains 63.07 as against 62.8 per cent
in year 2012.
She said that efforts are being made to provide quality education and to
develop skilled human resource so as to increase the opportunities of
employability of youth. A sum of about Rs.100 crore is being spent on improvement
of infrastructure in ITIs in the state. The department would further improve
its efficiency and provide best instructors in its institutes so as
to ensure excellent results, she added.
