Haryana cadre I.P.S officer A.K.Dhul has been awarded
prestigious award named ‘Shantidoot’ (Ambassador of Peace) by the World Peace
Movement Trust. The award was presented to him by Padma Bhushan Ms Ela Gandhi
grand-daughter of Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi and Dr.Subhash Kashyap, former,
Secretary-General of Lok Sabha at a two days International Seminar organized by
Shridhar University, Pilani in collaboration with Word Peace Movement
Trust, held recently at Pilani in Rajasthan.
About four hundred delegates from forty countries participated in seminar on theme of Non -Violence and Peace Movement. They pledged to work for non-violence. Eminent Gandhian N.Subbbarao, Afghanistan ex-education minister, Mohammad Suleman Kakar, former Maharashtra, DGP, Dr. PS Pasricha, Dr. Ramesh Madaan, scholars, policy-makers, from various countries and academicians and other prominent persons attended the conference. The trust, which was founded by internationally known Gandhian scholar and Padamshree, Dr, Ravindra Kumar and former Governor Prof Sidheshwar Parshad, is working for world peace and spreading education. Its aim is to preach non-violence. The trust is publishing international journal on Global Peace. The Trust is also working for bringing about reconciliation among social groups, religious communities and sects, it is focusing on equality, integration, understanding non-violence, social change, unity and global peace.
Dr. Ravindra Kumar informed that non-violence, inherent in human nature, is an ever abiding value for maintaining universal peace adding that concept of non-violence is very essential. Congratulating Mr. A.K.Dhul for this achievement Dr. Madaan said that he has brought glory not only to Haryana but to the country also.
Mr. A.K.Dhul working as Additional Director General of Police, CID Haryana said that award has put more responsibility on him for working in this field.
