Haryana Labour Department has conducted 2246 inspections
under various labour laws recently and detected 62 violations of various kinds
resulting in recovery of over Rs. 6.80 lakh as fine from defaulters.
While stating this
here today, a spokesman of the Department said that prosecutions were launched
against 280 establishments and convictions were obtained in 223 cases. Also,
warnings were issued to 25 establishments due to detection of violations
committed by them. As many as 121 industrial disputes were got settled by
the conciliation officers of the Labour Department and 54 disputes were
withdrawn by workers or trade unions. He said that inspectorate staff of the
department also conducted 62 regular inspections for factory building plans and
registration fee.
He said that the
department recovered Rs 4.68 crore as unpaid contribution from the employers
and spent about Rs 1.43 crore on implementation various labour welfare schemes
run by the Welfare Board. The department was running eleven whole time Labour
Welfare Centres in important industrial towns of the state. In these centres,
workers were provided the facilities of reading room, library, training classes
for women and other recreational activities, he added.
