The Haryana Government has sanctioned 771 posts on regular basis
for Kalpana Chawla Medical College, Karnal and their number would be
increased from time to time as per the norms of Medial Council of India
(MCI). Ten posts of different specialists and 13 posts of ministerial
staff have already been filled up by the college.
While giving this information here today, a spokesman of Haryana
Medical Education and Research Department said that the administrative
and functional control of General Hospital, Karnal has been handed over
to Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College, Karnal and a sum of Rs.
6.65 crore has been approved for renovation of exiting general hospital,
Karnal.
The
spokesman said that the State Government has given administrative
approval for the completion of two blocks of residential accommodation
in the premises of police lines. He said that this work has already
been started by the Hospital Services Consultancy Corporation (HSCC),
and it would be completed within a period of 25 months.
He said that the construction work of Kalpana Chawla Medical College
was allotted to HSCC by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with
the agency on September 25, 2012 after completion of tender process.
The agency had submitted a Detailed Project Report (DPR) on October 30,
2012 to Director General Medical Education and Research (DGMER) who is
also the Chairman of DPR Evaluation Committee. He said that the concept
plan has been approved by the Concept Plan Approval Committee. After the
approval of concept plan, the foundation stone of Kalpana Chawla
Government Medical College was laid by Haryana Chief Minister Mr.
Bhupinder Singh Hooda on November 18, 2012.
The spokesman said that the DPR evaluation committee has held two
meetings for the evaluation of DPR . The State Government has appointed
Haryana Police Housing Corporation as consultant to assist in the
supervision and construction of the project to be constructed by HSCC.
The Haryana Police Housing Corporation has convened meetings for
evaluation of DPR. The DPR is in the final stage of evaluation, he
further added.
