Haryana State Warehousing Corporation (HSWC) has decided
to construct godowns having a total capacity of 1,36,290 metric tonnes
during financial year 2013-14 thus enhancing the storage capacity
to 21.34 lakh metric tonnes in the state.
This was stated by Chairman, HSWC and Principal Secretary, Agriculture
Department Mr. Roshan Lal while presenting a cheque of Rs.58,40,740, as
dividend at a rate of 20 per cent on paid up capital for the year 2011-12
to Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda here today.
He apprised the Chief Minister that during the current financial year, the
turnover of the Corporation was over Rs 93.14 crore. At present the Corporation
is operating 108 warehouses in the state with a total average storage capacity
of 19 lakh metric tonnes and 105 per cent utilization.With the addition of new
storage capacity, the total number of godowns would increase to 118.
He said that NABARD has also sanctioned a loan of over Rs.30.61 crore for the
construction of godowns having capacity of 97,796 metric tonnes
at nine locations in the state.
Deputy Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr R.S.Doon, OSD to Chief
Minister, Mr B.R.Beri and Managing Director, HSWC, Mr. Brijendra Singh
were also present on this occasion.
